Disclosures

intervention, 2004-2008

The serial exhibition series Disclosures took place intermittently from April 2004 till November 2008 in our social housing apartment. This housing block, designed by the architects Kollhoff and Rapp, was in 1993 one of the first experiments in diverse living; a principle that has since then frequently been applied in newly build housing. The 304 units of the block are almost all different in size and lay-out and offer a living space to a diverse group of people: the design houses attractive apartments for both low-income and more well to do inhabitants. This diversity cannot be seen from the monolith front and the empty, high entrance and hallways.

For Disclosures eight artists were invited to react to this space.

During the opening hours of the temporary exhibitions, we replaced the wooden door for a glass one, and covered the stairs with ivory carpet.
